boot problems with several 9260s boards

Hi all, hoping someone has seen some of this behavior before and might have some hints.

Board 1: this board hangs in the boot process at the rtc line ("unable to read hardware clock", or "setting hw clock" if I put the battery in) for 2-3 minutes.  After this, I see it mounting root, freeing init memory, and then nothing (I let it sit there for ~10 mins).

Board 2:  Board won't pass crc on the kernel.  I have tried both writing the kernel via uboot and using sam-ba, both produce the same result of crc failure.

Boards 3-6: boot only sporadically, sometimes they boot fine, sometimes they only show ROMboot> and nothing else.

I am using about 60 of these things with the remainder working fine, so I am pretty sure the problem is not my software.  Has anyone else seen any behavior like this?

Best,
Brady

Re: boot problems with several 9260s boards

I have two boards, one 9260S and one 9260.

The 9260 has the same symptoms as you described in #2 (the CRC errors), but I can nevertheless login as root.

The 9260S I've never been able to see anything with a Null Modem cable...

*edit: not seeing anything in the hyperterminal (actually minicom or cutecom) was my fault. I didn't realize that you had to plug the null-modem directly into the pins (I just assumed the DB9 connector was for connecting the NullModem cable). So my GESBC-9260S actually worked like a charm after all! (if anyone's interested in how exactly to connect the null-modem cable to the pins, I can post instructions here, just throw me a line on this thread)
