Minicom does not show any output
I have connected the device and been able to see the boot prompt using hyperterminal (on Windows). However, when I start minicom (on Linux) it does not show anything. Minicom shows "Offline" at the lower bottom corner once I pressed ^A-Z. Is there any command in minicom that I need to execute to connect to the device?

No special command is required for Minicom to communicate through the NULL modem cable. Please make sure you have the correct communication parameters and correct port selected for Minicom

Also if using a HP laptop be sure to disable the IR port in bios
