Automatic Login/Startup Scripts

Hey all,

We'd like to get the board to run in "headless" mode (i.e. boot itself and run itself without user intervention). Currently we need to log in on boot - is there a way to enable auto-login as a user and run a startup script?

Note: We're using the default startup shell (i.e. no init= option in uboot).

Re: Automatic Login/Startup Scripts

Depend on what kind of file system you are using, you should be able to put a script in the init script that can run your application upon system start up.

On Debian based file system you can add them in /etc/init.d/rc.local or create a new script and put it in /etc/rcX.d directory (X is the run level number).
